It is now possible to officially join the BIM Forum Brazil!

To associate your company, association, public agency, autarchy, institute or any other legal entity to BFB, and start enjoying the benefits, follow the steps below:

1) Read the BIM Forum Brasil bylaws and make sure you are in agreement with the purposes of the BFB, and the duties and rights of its members;

2) Choose the member category , according to the benefits and value of the annuity most appropriate for your entity;

3) Choose the collegiate that is closest to your interests related to BIM;

4) Download the BFB association contract, available here;

5) Read, complete and sign the contract;

6) Generate a signed PDF version (save to PDF with digitalized signature, scan text with signature or sign PDF version with digital certificate);

7) Upload here (or by clicking the button below) the BFB association contract signed with your entity's social contract or other document that proves the condition of legal guardian of the associate entity of the one who signed the contract.

8) Wait for contact from the representative of BIM Fórum Brasil, confirming that your proposal of association was approved by the BFB Board of Directors and with instructions for depositing annuity / installment ;

9) After setting up the deposit, your entity will officially be a member of BIM Fórum Brasil, appearing on the members page and receiving the benefits of the category in which you joined.

GASB - Regas Barbacena Terminal

The project consists of a Natural Gas Gasification Terminal in Barcarena. The engineering scope includes:

  • Citygate, which has 82.8 tons of pipes, 7.5 tons of supports, 352m³ of concrete, 1315 m² of paving, underground and land.

  • Offshore, with 400 m³ of concrete in submerged piles, 454 m³ of superstructure cast in situ, 416 m³ of precast and 151 tons of metallic structures

  • Gas pipeline, with 551 tons of pipes, 40 tons of supports, 8.7 tons of metal structure and 38 m³ of concrete in the sleepers

In the budgeting and proposal phase, it was identified that the following BIM uses would bring significant gains in their application in the project and work:

  • 3D Executive Project: development of the executive project in BIM of the piping discipline and the civil structure of the offshore section;

  • 3D modeling: development of the executive project in 2D and 3D modeling of other disciplines.

  • 3D visualization: visualization and navigation of digital project models.

  • 3D project coordination: holding model audit meetings, design reviews and interference checks

  • Quantity survey: Quantities visualized directly in the 3D Digital Model and exported to Excel

  • 4D Planning: visualization of the schedule and critical path of the work as detailed in the management schedule; visual physical advancement

  • Materials management: material requisition, purchase order, receipt, release of materials and integration with SAP through a materials management system.

  • Construction management: Issuance of executive activities with Task Sheets and Productivity Reports, Production, General PPC, PPC Supervisors, Efficiency Report, Loss Report. Monitoring of manufacturing services, execution until commissioning.

Results

  • Extraction of 2D documents from the 3D model.

  • Better understanding of everyone involved and discussions of constructive solutions and better supported project adjustments; 

  • Detection of interferences that would only be identified on site.

  • More reliable quantities obtained from the digital design model

  • Better planning control and monitoring through productivity KPIs

  • Visual control in the digital design model of the progress and STATUS of elements in the field;

  • Understanding of the planned executive sequence and possible adjustments to the schedule.

  • Traceability of materials, improvement in purchasing processes and better stock control, reducing material waste
